Personal Financial Commitment
Personal Financial Commitment (PFC) is the cornerstone of the funding for the operation of the Sound of the Braves. Each and every band student and Color Guard member agrees
to provide a equal part of this commitment . For the school year of 2008-09, the PFC is $250.00. Members of the Winter Guard will pay a separate PFC to be determined later.
Additional equipment fees (outlined below) are required by members of the Color Guard, Winter Guard and Percussion.
PFC Payment Schedule
The
first installment of $100.00 is due at the
end of Band Camp. If you find that you are able to pay the PFC in full by the last day of Band Camp, you may take a 10% discount and pay $225.00 to be paid in full.
The
second installment of $100.00 is due by Friday, August 29th .
The
third and final installment of $50.00 is due by Friday, September 26th
It is suggested that you may encourage your students to raise these funds themselves during the summer by babysitting, mowing lawns and other tried and true activities they can find in their own neighborhoods. There will be band sponsored fundraisers with portions of the money raised being applied to the participating student’s PFC. However, you should not
rely on these opportunities as your student’s sole source of funding.
Special Needs
Being aware that, especially in this economy, there may be those who may require a longer payment schedule, we will have an application form available to fill out requesting an
individual and confidential assessment by our Band Directors to see if you would qualify for this program.
Band Trip Account
We are planning a trip this spring to Colonial Williamsburg to participate in a music program and have some fun! This trip is optional for students and not a requirement of the Boone High School Band program. However, if your student is planning to go, once your PFC is fully paid, then all other fundraising income that would normally go towards PFC will then go to the individual student’s band trip account.
Percussion and Guard Equipment Fees
In addition to the PFC as outlined above, Percussion members and Color Guard will have an additional equipment fee to cover those extra items specific to those performance
requirements. Winter Guard will have it’s own separate PFC and equipment fee, that will be established once the number of Winter Guard members is established later in the school year.
