Parents,

This has been a great week for the Performing Arts Department! Ms. Weagley had an amazing show of Suessical the Musical, Chorus has had many students make All-State and All-County and the band had a great show at this past weekend’s show at Colonial. We are so proud of our kids. We could not do this alone. It is with your support and love for this department that helps us perform with consistent excellence year after year. Thank you fellow Braves for everything you do!

This past weekend, the Sound of the Braves performed at the Colonial Marching Festival at Colonial High School. The band received Straight Superiors in all Captions. In addition to this, the band received a Superior with Distinction in Music and Percussion. This was our final competitive performance and we were thrilled to have had the support of our band parents and Boone community at the school to cheer us on. Our final performance of our show entitled “We Promise” will be this Friday at the Boone/Edgewater game.

Also this week, we found out that two of our band students have been selected in the All-State band. Congratulations to Angelica Fortune and Katie Zarama for being selected to represent Boone High School at the 2008 All-State Band.

On Monday, students from Boone auditioned for the 2008 All-County band. The following students were selected for the 9/10 Concert Band and the 11/12 Symphonic Band.
