Football Season Concession Committee

The Concessions Committee represents a huge portion of the money that the band needs to operate. Your participation is greatly appreciated! In previous years, we have had one person or a couple, run the concession committee and recruit volunteers for the entire operation. However, for Fall 2008, following the template we have employed for fundraising, we will divide the concessions duties into four separate areas of responsibility (sub-committees). Each sub-committee chair will recruit as many volunteers for their part of the operation as they feel they might need for each of the five regular-season varsity football home games and any subsequent post-season home games there may be.

Please contact Rob Matheson at rmatheson@dagmail.com for more information or to volunteer.

Inventory and Ordering Stock Chairperson
This person will be responsible for placing the weekly order for drinks, food and other supplies needed for the concession stand during football season. He or she will also need to load the coolers and freezers and make sure the icemaker is up and running the morning of game-day. The drinks are delivered to the stand by Coke, but the meat will need to be picked up from Great Western each week on game-day and other supplies like popcorn, etc will need to be purchased and brought to the stand. Boone has accounts for most of our vendors, however from time to time, you may need to purchase items and be reimbursed. All receipts will be turned in to the concession Cash Chairperson (see below).

Cash Chairperson
This person will be responsible for the security of the cash drawer and all monies collected each night the band operates the concession stand. The initial “bank” is received from school bookkeeper and the Cash Chairperson will be responsible for it until the end of the season. All monies earned each week over and above the “bank” amount, will be deposited with the school bookkeeper the Monday following the game. Also, a weekly report of sales with a breakdown of the split with the Athletic Boosters will be submitted to the Band Booster president. Receipts received from the Inventory Chair and anyone else authorized to pick up supplies will be submitted by the Cash Chairperson for reimbursement by the school.

Inside Operations Chair
This person will run the “inside” operations, recruit volunteers to staff the sales window, food preparations, etc. and will also make sure the inside of the stand is left in an orderly condition at the end of each game-night operation and re-stock the drink refrigerators for the next event.

Outside Operations Chair
This person will run the outside operations, including preparation and cooking on the grill and hot dog cooker, recruiting volunteers for wrapping burgers and dogs, stocking the warmer and handing it out to the customers. He or she will also be responsible for cleaning up the area after the event and making sure the grill, cooker, warmer and tables are all secure.
